Jun 27, 2004
We are very proud to announce that we have ordered two 25.000 tdw oil/chemical tankers at Shanghai Edwards Shipyard, China. The deliveries are 2:nd quarter 2006 and end 2006/beginning 2007.
The design of the vessels are made in close cooperation between Tarbit and Skipskonsulent, Bergen, and is highlighted on a design with very high safety and a design for the future for tanker business.
The 25.000 tdw tankers will be built for high performance in worldwide traffic and especially for environmentally friendly safe coastwise distribution trade.
To meet service, quality, dependability and safety, the vessels are designed with twin-skeg hull, this means double medium speed engines, two propellers and two rudders. This gives excellent manoeuvrability and with a hull form designed for minimum resistance it gives a trail speed of 17 knots. The vessels will be built to Ice Class 1A and with a cargo capacity of 27.100 m3.
The design fulfils Germanischer Lloyd´s Redundancy Class 50%.
The vessels are designed for short port turnaround and will apply latest -super stripping- cargo handling and eight segregations with loading capacity 6.000 m3/h and a discharging capacity of 3.000 m3/h.
The navigation systems are integrated including chart and track pilot and this permits the highest standard of safe navigation and makes route pre-planning and constant monitoring easy.
